On Thursday, February the 21st between 17:30 and 19:30 (5.30-7.30 PM), Mirtha Vásquez and Reinaldo Rodríguez will provide a guest lecture at Hogeschool-University Brussel (HUB). In this lecture they will discuss the problems surrounding the Conga mine case in Peru, which is to be constructed in the Cajamarca region and would cover 2,000 hectares of land. All this in a region that is known for its environmental vulnerability and fragile ecosystems.

The Peruvian professor Reinaldo Rodriguez will provide a guest lecture at the KU Leuven (catholic university of Leuven) on February 21, 2013 between 13:00 and 14:00 (1.00-2.00 pm). In this lecture he will introduce the problems surrounding the Conga mine in Peru, which is to be constructed in the Cajamarca region and would cover 2,000 hectares of land. All this in a region that is known for its environmental vulnerability and fragile ecosystems.
On Tuesday the 12th of February at 18:30 GOUD:EERLIJK, in cooperation with Mundo-b (Brussels), will show the documentary In the Heart of Conga. This documentary deals with the Conga mine case in the Cajamarca region of Peru. This region is known for its environmental vulnerability, and the Conga mining project will cause irreversible damage to the ecosystem, which is made up out of a system of lakes, wetlands and rivers.
