Natural resources in Latin America: oil, gold or water?

CATAPA presents - from February 14th until March 15th - DocuLatino IV, a Latin American documentary festival. This edition puts forward the problems of the gold mining and oil industry. From March 13th until March 15th DocuLatino takes place in Leuven.

CATAPA organiza, del 14 febrero hasta el 15 de marzo, por cuarto vez el Doculatino. Este festival de documentales enfoca en los problemas de la explotación de recursos como el oro o el petróleo. Las grandes empresas multinacionales obtienen inmensas ganancias, pero dejan en el sur grandes daños ambientales y sociales. Los sistemas ecológicos están perdidos, las comunidades de campesinos pierden sus tierras, productos quíimicos contaminan el agua potable por muchos años. Las consecuencias son funestas, y a menudo irreversibles.

Ontdek de culturele diversiteit van Latijns-Amerika. Proef typische gerechten en dranken uit alle hoeken van het enorme continent.
