Last friday, april 9th, the promoters of a local legislative initiative officially handed over their 1051 signatures in support of this initiative to the local authorities.

It is aimed at forbidding within the jurisdiction of the municpality any mining or other industrial activity that might affect the essential funtion of the páramo El Almorzadero.

After they have been validated, and in the case that the recollected number of signatures surpases the minimum of 5% of the municipal census, it will be debated in the council, which will decide if it is turned into local legislation or not.
